Current Mood…
While it’s currently sunny and 64 degrees out in Los Angeles, weather.com says a storm is a brewing….may be the reason for my current mood…

Think this weekend may call for a chili and cornbread…
My favorite Chili
- Saute 1 lbs of lean ground beef, 1 onion and 1 bell green pepper
- Drain excess water after cooked
- Add 2 large cans of Hunts tomato sauce, 1 can of kidney beans, 1 can of white beans, 1 can of chili beans, 1 package of Shillings chili season, 1 teas chili powder, 1 teas cumin, 1/4 cayanne pepper
- Put in a crock pot for at least an hour but the longer you leave it, the better it is
- Serve with shredded cheddar cheese
Sneak Attack!
I was out of town two weekends in a row this past month for my best friend’s wedding festivities. My husband and I didnt get a whole lot of time together that week so when I cam home, I was hoping to do something special for him. He is not easy to surprise as he hates surprises and guesses his birthday gifts correctly months in advance, so I knew it needed to be a quick maneuver in order to succeed with a sneak attack. I got the idea to surprise him with a homemade breakfast while he was out for a run.
I made homemade belgian waffles, had fresh cut strawberries, honey from our friends local bee hive, figs from our fig tree, and some whip cream. I made a center piece from an H, mason jar, candle and a picture from our wedding. Left a note on the door and bam!- he was surprised! He topped the great morning off by french pressing some intelligentsia coffee..

sneak attack= success.

GO TO RECIPES: Mustard Chicken Tenders
One of my favorite ‘go to’ recipes is one from my mother in law, MUSTARD CHICKEN TENDERS. It is simple, easy, and always a crowd pleaser!
What You Need:
- Chicken Tenders
- half a stick of butter
- about 1/3- 1/2 of a deli mustard container
- equal parts panko bread crumbs, grated Kraft parmesan cheese (in green container), and fresh shredded parmesan cheese.
What You Do:
- Melt Butter and mix with mustard in one bowl
- mix the panko bread crumbs, grated and shredded parmesan cheese in a separate bowl
- dip tenders in mustard bowl and then in breadcrumb and cheese bowl
- Place chicken tenders on a pammed cooking sheet
- Cook until cripsy and light brown (approx 20 minutes) at 375 degrees
Enjoy! This dish is wonderfully paired with rice, salads, veggies, etc.
10 on 10
I have decided to join the 10 on 10 project. I originally got on board when I began reading a good friend’s blog. The purpose of the 10 on 10 project is to find and photograph the beauty in the little things in life. While you are supposed to take the photos all in one day, I will be compiling my photos from the month. So here is my first 10 on 10 highlighting the beauty I find in the little things in life…
